What is X10 ?
X10 is an industry standard
protocol that allows various home automation devices to communicate with each other trough regular household powerlines
or by radio airwaves. For example through the X10 protocol, using an X10 remote, you could control your lights plugged
into a lamp module
or schedule your coffee maker to brew your java every morning through an appliance module.
To know more about the X10 protocol you can visit www.x10.com
or www.SmartHome.com.

For those who are more familiar with X10 and already own (or plan to acquire) an
ActiveHome Pro computer interface,
I have developed a command line interface that allows you to send X10 commands powerline using the MS-Dos console.
